The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Receiving Inspector to join the Supplier Quality Receiving Team located in North Charleston SC.
The Supplier Quality Receiving Inspection Team at BSC plays a crucial role in ensuring that only high-quality compliant materials enter the production process. This team meticulously inspects incoming materials identifies and addresses defects and maintains detailed quality records all while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Position Responsibilities:
Verifies routine product conformance to design requirements.
Provides objective evidence of results. Performs auditing surveillance and monitoring.
Identifies and documents discrepancies.
Segregates and controls non-conforming items.
Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification.
Identifies repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiates requests for corrective action.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
High School Diploma or GED is typically the minimum requirement.
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments: Calipers micrometers height gauges thread gauges etc. are routinely used to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints drawings and engineering specifications: Essential for comparing received items against design requirements.
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook): Essential for documentation report generation and communication.
Strong attention to detail: A critical requirement for meticulous examination of materials and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Relevant experience 2-4 years in quality inspection especially in manufacturing or related environments like aerospace is highly valued.
Experience with First Article Inspections (FAI): Ensuring initial production runs meet specifications.
Familiarity with quality standards and specifications: Understanding industry guidelines (like AS9100 in aerospace) and internal company standards.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles: Can be beneficial for process improvement.
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) (e.g. SAP Oracle): Used for managing inventory tracking orders and documenting inspection results.
Experience using quality management software (e.g. TIPQA): For managing inspection processes and documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: To identify root causes of defects analyze inspection data and recommend corrective actions.
