Special Education Tutor Grade 6 Hanscom Campus
Start Date: August 27 2025 (181 days 1 day before students return and 180 student days)
Will work 30 hours per week (Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday from 8 am 2:50 pm; Wednesday 8 am 12:35 pm).
Rate of Pay: $26.47 per hour (Step 1).
Benefits and Middlesex County Retirement System eligible recognized as a positon in the Education Support Profession (ESP) unit.
This position reports to theStudent Services Coordinatorand is under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
Job Summary
The Special Education Tutor provides direct services to individuals and small groups of students both in the regular classroom and in special education settings.
ContractualRelationship
The Special Education Tutor is employed by the district through yearly appointments and is compensated in accordance with hourly rates established by the School Committee.
OrganizationalRelationship
The Special Education Tutor reports to the Coordinator of Special Education and Pupil Services and the special education liaison as assigned.
Responsibilities
1. Provides direct support to individuals and small groups of students based on Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
2. Prepares instruction materials according to teacher guidelines.
3. Monitors student progress records performance data and communicates such to special education liaison.
4 . Under the direction of the classroom teacher or special education liaison modifies and adapts instruction according to a students IEP.
5. Promotes appropriate social interaction and behavioral compliance for students.
6. Performs other tasks assigned by the Coordinator of Special Education and Pupil Services and the special education liaison.
