PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Signing Bonus: New employees are eligible for a$5000 bonus; with $2500 paid on the first payroll and $2500 paid upon completion of six (6) month introductory period from hire date
Salary to be commensurate with experience.
The hiring range for this position is $19.92$24.90/Hourly

Consistent Hours:Guaranteed 40 hoursper week
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts preventive maintenance inspections of buildings and facilities assigned by area within the City boundaries
Performs preventative maintenance tasks
Monitors and provides quality control and services of outside contractors
Performs minor and major repairs
Performs semiskilled maintenance tasks including minor plumbing repair lighting repair HVAC tasks roof repair flooring repair interior and exterior painting drywall repairs ceiling tiles replacement and door hardware repairs
Operates and uses a variety of tools and equipment related to the maintenance function
Maintains various records such as equipment time material and parts inventory
May assist in training other employees
May act as a lead worker
Emergency oncall responsibilities on a rotating basis
Resolves user service complaints and interfaces with contractors
Resolves problems arising during the workday
Performs additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
At least 2 years of commercial building and facilities construction/maintenance experience
Computerized work order management system knowledge (preferred)
An equivalent combination of education training and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge skills and abilities may be considered.
Licenses and Certifications:
Colorado Drivers License with a good driving record
Knowledge:
Knowledge of basic operation of building systems
Knowledge of basic tools used for building maintenance
Skills:
Skill in operation of equipment and tools of assigned function
Skill in operation of computers and tablets
Abilities:
Ability to work at or above 30 feet on ladders and or aerial devices
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers contractors vendors and citizens
Handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Prioritize work assignments
Establish and fulfill goals and objectives
Physical Demands:
Moderate to heavy physical work depending upon assigned function; may require ability to lift 50 pounds with or without assistance
Frequent walking standing and sitting; may perform activities requiring a full range of body movement including bending stooping pushing pulling and climbing
Hand/eye coordination for operation of computer keyboard
Hand/eye and hand/foot coordination for operation of tools equipment and vehicles to drive between facilities
Vision to read manuals reports and various related instruments
Speech and hearing to maintain communication with employees vendors and citizens and the ability to provide technical information
Work Environment:
Works both indoors and outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions noise dust and fumes
Equipment Used:
Operates equipment and vehicles common to facilities maintenance
Field tablet for work order tracking system
Operates a variety of hand and power tools and equipment common to construction and maintenance; operates vehicles such as snow plows
Essential Personnel:
When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the City all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.
