JOB TITLE:Clerk Building Operations
Building Operations Department
REPORT TO:Director of Building Operations
WAGE/HOUR STATUS:Nonexempt
PAY GRADE:Para 5
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Building Operations. The Clerk will support the daily business activities of the Building Operations Department process all rental and facility usage requests for the district support the Payroll Clerk support the departments annual equipment audit and assist with employee transitions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Preferred:
- Three years jobrelated experience
- Bilingual Spanish
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Skills to operate standard office equipment including use of computer applications; highly accurate calculations and data entry required; use English in both written and verbal forms; use correct spelling grammar and punctuation; perform basic arithmetic calculations; ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of filing procedures.
- Familiar with bookkeeping procedures.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use office equipment including telecommunication equipment and computer.
- Ability to comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
- Ability to make judgments based on available information.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assists personnel for the purpose of providing requested information.
- Prepares various reports for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
- Schedule facilities for rental secure custodial and police coverage for the event(s) and communicate the rental to the facility principal or designee of the rented facility in writing.
- Prepare rental contracts collect fees and maintain financial records of all rental transactions.
- Assist with the departments invoice verification for all vendors.
- Set up new hire files and assist with processing paperwork.
- Ensure new hires receive required department training.
- Collaborate with department staff to ensure the annual equipment audit meets department expectations for accuracy and compliance.
- Assists in other areas as directed by the Building Operations Director.
- Answer telecommunication system for the purpose of screening calls transferring calls responding to inquiries and/or taking messages.
- Evaluate situations for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Assist Building Operations office as required.
- Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fastpaced highintensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. This position requires a person that is able to maintain emotional control under stress. Overtime as required as necessary.
