Role description:
The Tax Compliance Specialistwill assist all US State and Local tax affairs related to the Arcadis North America domestic business which may include Canada and Puerto Rico as well as the tax affairs of Arcadis US foreign operations. The focus of the role will be US compliance of our operations including filing federal state and local tax returns responding to tax inquiries from tax authorities and assisting the business with oneoff tax issues. In addition assist with the preparation of quarterly tax reporting for Arcadis US Inc.
Tax Specialist will report to the Tax Manager.
Role accountabilities:
- Preparation of federal state and local income tax returns and supporting work papers including estimates extensions and state apportionment calculations.
- Preparation of state apportionment and state modifications.
- Preparation of income tax provisions under IFRS 12based tax reporting and accounting including analysis of uncertain tax positions deferred tax positions returntoprovision adjustments etc.
- Assist as needed in providing information to the accounting team related to tax reporting and tax accounting including analysis of uncertain tax positions deferred tax positions returntoprovision adjustments cash taxes etc.
- Partner with outside tax consultants on various projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with accounting legal and other corporate departments (US and nonUS) to accomplish assigned objectives.
- Research tax matters and provide support to the US and global tax team members.
- Assist with tax controversies audits and responding to notices
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Shared Accountabilities:
- Support the Tax and Compliance Director with the preparation of the US tax compliance and preparation of the quarterly income tax provisions under IAS 12 (IFRS) based tax reporting and accounting.
Qualifications & Experience:
The candidate should have 3 to 5 years related tax experience
Bachelors Degree in Accounting (or related field).
Experience with consolidated federal and state and local income tax compliance.
Strong knowledge of tax accounting and reporting under IFRS or US GAAP.
Experience as tax advisor.
