Job Description

Job Summary

The University Housing Planning and Support Services oversees multiple dynamic areas and is responsible for continual proactive analysis of complex issues and process improvement as well as communicating department specific information from three University Housing support services areas to the residential community and campuswide stakeholders. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Facilities Operations and Sustainability the incumbent is responsible for providing lead direction to professional and administrative staff functional leadership for daytoday operations for the Customer and Work Order unit monitoring and ensuring that organizational goals and deadlines for customer service functions are achieved. Additionally this position serves as a liaison to departments residents contractors and vendors and provides specific administration analysis for a variety of tasks and programs including work order database expertise; room/apartment condition inventory program; departmentwide key control inventories and trainings; damage charge analytics; and administrative oversight of special event programs.

University Housing a unit within the Division of Student Affairs consists of Facilities Operations Housing Administration Custodial Operations Diversity and Inclusion and Residential Student Experience. University Housing provides a premier living and learning experience for over 8800 students in residence hall and apartmentstyle communities. University Housings mission is to create a diverse and engaging experience that inspires all residents to Learn by Living.

Key Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated ability to provide lead work direction to student assistants and/or customer service staff through the development of measurable key performance indicators and achievable objectives to accomplish greater department goals.
  2. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to initiate independently plan and coordinate the execution of multiple projects continually assessing and handling shifting and competing priorities with frequent interruptions within a work environment that can be fast paced and sometimes stressful.
  3. Demonstrated ability to independently analyze and evaluate software functionality through technical documents and testing perform fitgap analyses and design and document efficient and effective business practices.
  4. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization bringing about understanding to needs and solution options.
  5. Ability to identify and understand problems from a granular and broader perspective anticipating the impacts on processes staff and other functional areas navigating and directing discussions to reduce negative impacts during the designing of solutions.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to graduation from a fouryear college or university. Three years of technical or administrative experience. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a yearforyear basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range:$65000 $85000 Per Year

Classification Range: $55176 $99816 Per Year
