Job Description
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal by maximizing the effective utilization of the resources provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Implements maintains and monitors health and safety programs
- Coordinates all mine site activities underground and surface on a rotating shift basis
- Coordinates plans and daily/weekly activities with all supervisors
- Must be capable of setting expectations for subordinates
- Conducts employee appraisal evaluations
- Approves material and supply orders
- Plans activities on a weekly and monthly basis
- Participates in process improvement program
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Extensive and diverse underground coal mining experience
- Previous proven underground supervisory experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Basic computer skills
- Utah Mine Foreman Certification
- Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent technical degree preferred
