Job Description
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Marketing Director within its Marketing & Communications (M&C) division to lead marketing strategies to support VEDPs marketing goals and objectives. The M&C division manages Virginias business brand and builds awareness of the Commonwealths advantages. This position will oversee the execution of VEDPs marketing and advertising programs website ecosystem management and other major marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and implementation of an effective marketing strategy as well as branding and advertising plans that increase brand awareness and communicate Virginias advantages for business
- Oversee a marketing program that supports and enhances VEDPs brand position and outreach marketing programs; specific marketing tactics may include digital marketing advertising social media publications and direct mail
- Lead the strategy concept and execution of VEDPs talent attraction and retention marketing
- Provide appropriate staff oversight and performance management; assist the VP in management of the division as required
- Manage implementation and execution of annual advertising strategy (based on funding)
- Implement lead tracking strategies to support VEDPs lead generation strategies including providing analytics and visitor reports to Business Development Core Group to develop marketinggenerated project leads
- Direct successful web strategies that promote Virginias business location advantages and increase topofmind awareness that Virginia is a prime business location
- Analyze website usage to improve user experience and identify potential marketing opportunities
- Oversee the special highvalue/visibility marketing projects at the direction of the division Vice President
- Manage relationship with VEDPs thirdparty marketing firm
Skills:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and effectively manage multiple projects
- Understanding of economic development principles and state and local government programs
Education/Experience:
- Considerable and successful experience in developing and implementing effective marketing advertising and branding programs (8 years)
- Economic development marketing experience preferred

This position may require travel and representing VEDP at multiple functions and events. A valid Virginia drivers license and ability to obtain a passport are required.
