Job Description

Visitation of Our Lady is seeking a fulltime Director of Religious Education to provide for the catechetical needs of the parish and school. Please email your cover letter and resum to Fr. Braud at

Position Summary

The Director of Religious Education (DRE) is responsible for the overall development coordination and administration of the parishs CCD program including sacramental preparation for children in grades K through 12. The DRE works closely with the Pastor school faculty parish staff volunteers and families to provide engaging and faithful Catholic education and formation.

Key Responsibilities

CCD Program Oversight

Oversee the planning and administration of the CCD program including managing registration scheduling and facility use. Maintain program communication through the parish website and promotional materials. Recruit train and support catechists and volunteers and ensure all Safe Environment requirements are met.

Sacramental Preparation

Plan and implement preparation programs for First Reconciliation First Communion and Confirmation. Coordinate retreats parent meetings rehearsals and liturgies related to the sacraments. Maintain sacramental records and assist with certificates and registries.

Event & Liturgy Coordination

Prepare and schedule readers altar servers and Eucharistic ministers for school mass. Organize events such as the Living Rosary Stations of the Cross and May Crowning. Schedule and confirm priests for confessions during Advent and Lent. Collaborate with clergy teachers and musicians for liturgical celebrations.

Qualifications

Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong understanding of Catholic faith and teachings.
Bachelors degree in Theology Religious Education Education or a related field (preferred but not required).
Experience in parish ministry catechesis or teaching preferred.
Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
Comfortable using email basic office software and parish scheduling systems.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
