Job Description

ROLE: Receptionist

REPORTING TO: Service Manager

LOCATION: Bradford Newmedica Park House Woodlands Park Bradford Rd Cleckheaton BD19 6BW

HOURS: 40 per week

SALARY: 25396.80 p/a

We provide services for NHS CCGs NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts and other providers of NHS funded services. We deliver thousands of patient interactions annually including outpatient appointments diagnostic testing and eye surgery. Our services are delivered through a variety of models including Managed Services and Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV) Partnerships.

ROLE SUMMARY

Our Clinic Receptionists are the face of Newmedica theyre often amongst the first people that our patients interact with on clinic visits therefore having a welcoming friendly empathetic approach is vital.

Our Clinic Receptionists check in a high volume of patients each day update their information instill eye drops and assist with booking future appointments and the answering of any queries using a variety of different systems. The thought of eye surgery can be a daunting prospect for patients to deal with so our Clinic Receptionists need to be able to put patients at ease. They also need strong communication skills to be able to explain the purpose of the different tests and help the patients understand their treatment.

Newmedica is committed to the growth and development of all our colleagues. The Clinic Receptionist role is a great opportunity to have exposure to both the clinical and administrative aspects of healthcare.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcoming patients and visitors on arrival to clinic

Booking patient appointments and ensuring that clinics are full

Making reminder calls to patients before their appointment is due

Completing postop calls following surgery to ensure the patient is well and understands the postoperative instructions

Liaising with GP surgeries and opticians regarding patient data and to answer any clinical questions which may arise

Management of patient data; ensuring availability required level of accuracy and confidentiality. Updating Newmedicas electronic patient records and producing and providing letters to patients

Managing the data in Newmedicas electronic patient records; adding importing and archiving data to ensure that they are up to date

Assisting with the administration of onward referrals

Liaise with the clinical and administration teams to ensure patient records are uptodate and accurate

Management of the waiting room to ensure all patients are kept informed of any delays

Set up of the clinic areas in the morning; completing health and safety checks ambient temperature checks and daily testing of the nursecall alarm system

Closedown of clinic areas ensure all patient identifiable information is locked away or disposed of correctly and secure the patient entrance

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION

A good level of general education

GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
