Background Check Information
Due to the nature of this position the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
JOB SUMMARY
Provides management of Park operations maintenance programs and new facility planning and construction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation Administration Business Management Public Administration Project Management or other closely related field plus three (3) years of related experience of which two (2) years must have been supervisory; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Education may not be substituted for the required supervisory experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Provides leadership in maintenance management establishing longrange and annual program goals and objectives.
- Creates executes and promotes utilizing facility maintenance service
- Establishes and oversees a fiveyear development and implementation plan with clearly defined goals and objectives.
- Coordinates the implementation of facility utilization policies and procedures.
- Oversees the efforts of maintenance supervisors to develop implement and support maintenance programs that meet established goals and objectives.
- Ensures consistent methods practices and procedures to optimize staffing and resource use. Analyzes staffing requirements equipment demands funding needs scheduling and other related factors organizing these elements into programs and proposals.
- Manages involvement with special events and activities to ensure consistent performance in accordance with Division publicity/marketing efforts.
- Provides leadership in project planning to ensure proper and timely projec
- Reviews new facility designs and renovation project plans for functionality and maintenance concerns and provides a professional analysis on the feasibility of new facility and property acquisition proposals.
- Represents applicable sections by attending board meetings as Presents statistical and financial information and reports on specific maintenance program needs problems and successes.
- Supervises staff which includes hiring orienting training assigning and reviewing work performance annual work performance appraisals and discipline
- Prepares an annual budget and expenditure plan by projecting staffing needs equipment material needs supplies and other budgetary issues.
- Supervises budget preparation functions of subordinate Maintenance supervisors and Monitors assigned activities and lineitem expenditures
- Investigates and responds to complaints and problems concerning the division
- Makes capital equipment vehicle purchase replacement and maintenance recommendations to ensure Parks Operations goals and objectives can be met.
- Administers the enforcement of safety Assesses potential liabilities and recommends changes
- Inspects facilities grounds and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment for recreation

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working in various outdoor locations sometimes in inclement weather and in facilities in close proximity of facility staff and/or the general public.
