Job Description
- Job Title: EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher
- Age Group: k8 graders
- Caseload: 5 students approx.
- Start Date: ASAP
- Number of working hours per week: 35 to 40
- End Date: End of SY 202526
- Plan and prepare lessons to agreed objectives
- Teach EAL sessions to targeted children in consultation with the Class Teacher and Milepost Coordinator
- Assess progress and review regularly with the Class Teacher English Lesson Support
- Play an active role in English lessons (and other subjects with a predominant English content) under the guidance of the teacher including leading small group work
- Be well prepared for English lessons through careful reading of the planning and effective communication with the teaching team
- Teach groups during Guided Reading sessions
- Under the supervision of the teacher assist with marking and assessment tasks.
- Active EAL (English) certification for the state of PA.
- B.A./B.S. degree required with a preference for classroom experience.
- 2 years of experience working as a EAL or general education teacher.
