JOB SUMMARY
Eastside Catholic School is seeking a fulltime High School Dean of Students for the 202526 school year. This is a 10month schoolyear position (midAugust through midJune) that reports to the High School Assistant Principal.
As a key member of our student support and leadership team the High School Dean of Students helps create and sustain a safe respectful and inclusive school environment. The Dean serves as a visible and proactive presence in the school community building positive relationships with students staff and families. Working collaboratively with a team of deans school leadership counselors and faculty the Dean addresses student behavior and attendance concerns and works to engage all stakeholders in delivering programs and services to support student development.
Specific Responsibilities
Supervise student discipline and attendance issues in an equitable and restorative manner
Schedule and facilitate parent and/or teacher conferences regarding behavior or attendance issues
Counsel students when necessary in groups or oneonone
Develop and lead proactive restorative programs to foster positive student behavior school culture and student interactions
Keep principals fully informed on relevant matters of student discipline and school life
Create a positive school culture by coaching and supporting faculty on managing behaviors through building strong relationships setting clear expectations and cultivating positive classroom culture
Supervise students who are not in the classroom which may include arrivals/departures parking lots lunch periods hall duty assemblies extracurricular programs etc.
Attend and supervise school social events on or off campus as needed including dances and athletic competitions
Prepare and maintain accurate records submit reports on time and maintain discipline records for the maximum period mandated by law and/or school board policy
Supports the Incident Response Team and help set a strong example when modeling safety protocol and procedures
Attentive to student behaviors that may indicate issues outside of the schoolhouse (e.g. profanity teasing bullying distress etc.)
Work with faculty and staff to address student behavior that is unacceptable per the Student and Family Handbook and create and supports behavior plans when needed
Participate in professional growth opportunities as appropriate
Strive to foster positive relationships with students faculty and families and serve as a role model
Promptly inform the Director of Communications of issues that may affect community and public relations require media or emergency response involvement; notify Incident Response Team of issues requiring emergency response
Performs other specific jobrelated duties as directed by the principals
Requirements
Excellent analytical interpersonal verbal and written skills
Strong ability to collaborate effectively with students families faculty and staff across all school constituencies
Demonstrated success working on a team in particular a willingness to contribute in a respectful collaborative way within a threedean model
Flexible mature and professional with a positive attitude and a sense of humor
Proven ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion
A commitment to equity inclusion diversity and belonging
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use school information systems
Highly organized with experience coordinating across academic and nonacademic departments
Physical ability to sit and use a keyboard for up to four hours per day and engage with students throughout the school day
Physical ability to stand for extended periods up to four hours per day
A deep commitment to fostering a school culture grounded in respect inclusivity and studentcentered practices
Education and experience
Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred
A minimum of three years or more in school administration or leadership is strongly preferred
Prior teaching experience preferred
Experience working with high schoolaged students in a school or educational setting
Salary:$85000 $95000 annually
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.
