Job Description
Kent Place School is seeking a dynamic knowledgeable Upper Elementary (Grades 35) Math and Social Studies teacher for theschool year who is committed to strengthening intellectual curiosity confidence leadership skills and critical thinking among young learners. The educator who fills this position will join a vibrant Primary School community focused on providing joyful durable learning experiences for all learners.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- A deep understanding of mathematics and social studies education with a strong foundation in teaching mathematics in grades K5;
- The ability to design engaging inquirybased learning experiences that support students conceptual understanding problemsolving skills and abilities to make connections across content areas;
- A commitment to creating a classroom that is academically challenging culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate;
- Enthusiasm for working with young learners and a demonstrated ability to build supportive relationships that inspire students to take risks and grow as learners;
- A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills that enable them to contribute to a professional learning community within and beyond the Primary School.
Requirements: experience teaching Mathematics and Social Studies (preferably for at least three years and with Primary Schoolaged students); a Masters degree in Mathematics or in Elementary Education preferred.
