PURPOSE OF POSITION:

*Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Anchorage Alaska

GCIs Technical Development Instructor I will focus on enhancing the technical expertise and knowledge of employees by designing implementing and evaluating comprehensive highquality training programs. Develop robust training solutions that align with organizational goals promote continuous professional growth and ensure adherence to industry standards. Build a highly skilled knowledgeable workforce capable of meeting present and future business challenges effectively.


Responsible for providing exceptional training and technical education across the organization. This includes developing delivering and assessing targeted training programs designed to address employees skill development needs. Ensuring that all training initiatives are strategically aligned with industry standards and organizational objectives fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:

Training Program Development & Maintenance:

  • Design update and maintain comprehensive training curricula covering various technical subjects within the telecommunications sector.
  • Develop structured training materials including manuals presentations elearning modules handson exercises and assessment tools.
  • Regularly review and enhance training content to ensure accuracy relevance and compliance with industry standards and organizational objectives.
  • Incorporate the latest technological advancements and best practices into training modules to promote cuttingedge knowledge transfer.

Training Delivery:

  • Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions using inperson virtual or hybrid formats to accommodate diverse learning preferences and needs.
  • Apply various instructional techniques including lectures demonstrations practical exercises group discussions onthejob demonstrations and simulations to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Utilize appropriate training platforms tools and technologies to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention.

Learner Assessment & Feedback:

  • Develop and administer quizzes practical assessments certification exams and other evaluation methods to measure learner comprehension and skill acquisition.
  • Provide constructive feedback and personalized guidance to trainees fostering continuous improvement and practical skill application.
  • Monitor learner progress and recommend additional resources or training as necessary to address individual learning gaps.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of training programs including schedules attendance logs assessment results and certification achievements.
  • Prepare and present reports on training effectiveness learner progress and areas for improvement to management and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed of industry trends technological advancements and regulatory changes relevant to telecommunications training.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance instructional techniques and training content ensuring the delivery of cuttingedge education.

Training Materials & Resource Management:

  • Ensure all training materials are current highquality and aligned with relevant industry standards and organizational expectations.
  • Continuously enhance training content based on learner feedback technological advancements and changing industry practices.

Collaboration & Needs Assessment:

  • Work closely with internal teams including subject matter experts HR and management to identify skill gaps and training needs.
  • Tailor training programs to meet the evolving requirements of the organization and support its strategic goals.
  • Maintain open communication channels with stakeholders to ensure training initiatives are effectively aligned with business objectives.

Additional Job Requirements:

Responsible for assisting in the design delivery and improvement of foundational technical training programs within the telecommunications sector. Under the guidance of senior instructors this role ensures effective knowledge transfer program efficiency and continuous improvement of training materials and methodologies.

  • Training Material Development & Enhancement:
    • Collaborative Content Creation: Assist senior instructors in developing updating and refining training materials including presentations manuals elearning modules instructional guides and practical exercises.
    • Standardization & Quality Assurance: Ensure all training content adheres to established guidelines organizational standards and industry best practices.
    • Feedback Integration: Actively contribute to the enhancement of training materials by gathering learner feedback and recommending improvements.
  • Training Delivery & Facilitation:
    • EntryLevel Training Programs: Independently deliver engaging and interactive training sessions focused on fundamental technical concepts and foundational skills.
    • Instructional Methods: Apply various teaching techniques such as demonstrations handson activities and group discussions to enhance learner engagement and comprehension.
    • Learner Engagement: Provide clear explanations encourage active participation and address trainee questions effectively to support knowledge retention.
  • Training Program Logistics & Scheduling:
    • Program Coordination: Assist in organizing and scheduling training sessions ensuring appropriate resources materials and facilities are prepared in advance.
    • Attendance & Progress Tracking: Maintain accurate records of participant attendance engagement and assessment results for reporting and improvement purposes.
    • Resource Allocation: Collaborate with training administrators to ensure availability of tools equipment and materials needed for training sessions.
  • Independent Instruction & Continuous Improvement:
    • SelfDirected Training Delivery: Conduct training sessions independently for entrylevel technical topics demonstrating confidence and expertise in fundamental concepts.
    • Curriculum Development Participation: Actively contribute to curriculum development initiatives by offering insights identifying gaps and suggesting improvements.
    • Ongoing Skill Enhancement: Stay updated on emerging industry trends and technological advancements to enhance instructional effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: *A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a yearforyear basis

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelors degree inhuman resources education organizational development business administration journalism communications or relevant field. *
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications technology such as fiber HFC and twisted pair technical work or related field. *

Preferred:

  • One (1) year of classroom or virtual facilitation experience.
  • Experience in developing online training modules.
  • Adult education instructional design or other telecom industry or job specific certifications.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position may require access to reliable transportation for frequent travel between retail store locations offices worksites warehouses or other locations as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work is at times sedentary requiring daily routine computer usage.
  • Work is at times physical in nature and can include climbing poles handling ladders and rescue dummies.
  • Ability to work shifts as assigned work in standard office/home office setting and operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
  • Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
  • Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.
  • Available to work additional time on weekends holidays before or after normal work hours when necessary.
  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
  • Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.

Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the core business hours to respond to the immediate emergency.
