About This Position:
Interns evaluate select and apply standard techniques procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional types of plans development of planning studies or reports investigations or surveys with relatively few complex features under the general guidance of a Project Planner/Engineer or Project Manager. This work is on small projects or portions of larger projects. Typical projects include transit highway traffic signal bridge design long range transportation planning traffic impact studies and transit planning.
Essential Job Functions:
- Data collector in the field.
- Perform specific portions of a broader assignment of an experienced planner/engineer/inspector.
- Perform standard computations or basic analysis.
- Prepare drawings and visual aids.
- Observe construction activities.
- Assist in maintaining equipment inventory.
- Perform design tasks.
- Perform quantity estimates.
- Attend project meetings with senior staff.
- Responsible for writing report sections.
- Responsible for basic QA/QC tasks; review of own work
- Assists at various meetings including public and client meetings.
Job Requirements:
Working towards a bachelors or masters degree in related discipline such as civil engineering or planning from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent. Selfmotivated and strong work ethic. Strong organizational skills required; ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
Pay Range:
$20/hour $26/hour
Pay is based on applicants ability/experience and will be rated accordingly.
