The Bronx District Attorneys Office is seeking an experienced Database Administrator.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installing and configure databases with license compliance in coordination with vendors and agency partners.
Performing upgrades of the database and software to new release levels
Managing the databases storage structures
Managing users and security
Managing schema objects such as tables indexes views triggers and procedures using PL/SQL and SSMS
Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve manipulate and analyze data.
Ensure code efficiency maintainability and security.
Making database backups and performing recovery when necessary
Proactively monitoring the databases health and taking preventive or corrective action as required
Responsible for database performance tuning
Responsible for database troubleshooting
Coordinating with appropriate teams to ensure operational effectiveness of databases and apply database OS and security patches.
Perform all other related duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or high school diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
Must have at least three years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) on 10g 11g 12c or 19c with strong knowledge of Oracle Data Guard or RMAN backup.
Experience with System administration or Microsoft SQL database installation configuration maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience with Azure or/and AWS is a plus.
Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent technical documentation writing skills.
Candidate should possess analytical and problemsolving skills a sense of responsibility and an ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal organizational and communication skills
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with vendors.
Strong project management skills in a teamoriented environment

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory fulltime experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 above.
