Principal Industry Specialist, Business Continuity

The AWS Business Continuity (BC) Team is seeking a forwardthinking analytical and dynamic Principle Security Industry Specialist to drive and enhance our enterprisewide resilience capabilities. You will join a team tasked with ensuring that AWS critical operations remain robust and adaptable in the face of disruptions spanning our global infrastructure security services and operations. Working with the BC team and internal customers across AWS you will execute the strategy to continuously improve the program and find innovative ways to assess measure and treat resiliency risk and test our ability to maintain operational resilience against realworld scenarios. While we maintain ISO22301 certification our vision extends beyond traditional business continuity to create a holistic adaptive resilience framework that matches AWSs scale and innovation. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in building risk and resilience programs within complex technical environments particularly in cloud infrastructure and services. Success in this role requires exceptional stakeholder management skills deep technical acumen and the ability to translate resilience principles into practical scalable solutions across AWSs global operations.

Key job responsibilities
Drive clarity and consensus on business continuity at AWS through extensive senior customer engagement (including VPs and Directors) across multiple organizations and geographies.
Independently adapt significantly complex realworld scenarios to analyze plan test and improve our understanding of critical capabilities
Introduce and implement unique processes methodologies and metrics around risk that align with AWS unique structure and innovative culture
Ensure the BC program aligns to customer expectations as well as global regulations and obligations
Be a thought leader on the future of business continuity and the resilience of cloud computing by communicating to an increasingly diverse set of audiences
Partner with resilience teams globally to develop a narrative around AWS endtoend model of business continuity planning
Represent AWS continuity with external stakeholders and BCrelated conferences and events

10 years of implementing and leading resilience or risk programs at multinational techfocused companies
10 years of creating and managing complex crossteam programs from strategy through delivery/adoption (especially in a technical field)
Substantive experience in Government Critical Infrastructure and/or Highly Regulated Industries
Experience designing planning and facilitating continuity/contingency/resilience exercises including tabletop scenarios simulations and fullscale recovery exercises
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with proven ability to influence stakeholders


Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Ability to dive deep into data existing processes people and technology challenges in order to identify risks and opportunities
Experience in leading managing and delivering projects/programs while meeting deadlines
Knowledge of cloud service architecture
Experience in managing the response to significant disruptive events.
Experience communicating assessment results and remediation strategy with senior leadership
Strong understanding of information security principles and compliance frameworks
Ability to travel up to 30% of time globally

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $273300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
