Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Kibana Engineer to join our team at Scott Air Force Base supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing developing and maintaining Kibana dashboards and visualizations to support data analytics and reporting requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of Kibana Elasticsearch and data visualization principles strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design develop and maintain Kibana dashboards and visualizations to support data analytics and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with data engineers data scientists analysts and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver highquality data visualizations.
Implement and optimize Elasticsearch queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and visualization performance.
Ensure data quality integrity and security by implementing best practices and adhering to relevant data governance policies.
Develop and maintain documentation for Kibana dashboards visualizations and related processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot Kibana and Elasticsearch issues ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve Kibana and data visualization practices.
Provide training and support to endusers on how to effectively use Kibana dashboards and visualizations.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
Active DoD Secret clearance is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data visualization data analytics or a related field.
Proficiency in Kibana and Elasticsearch including experience with designing and developing Kibana dashboards and visualizations.
Proficiency with SQL and database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL Oracle).
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau Power BI) and data analytics frameworks.
Knowledge of data governance data quality and data security best practices.
Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g. Elastic Certified Engineer AWS Certified Data Analytics).
