Job Purpose
The Building Maintenance Technician ensures the wellbeing and comfort of staff students and visitors by maintaining all Rawhide buildings and grounds for work school and residence. This role involves completing preventative and routine maintenance tasks to support a safe functional and welcoming environment across the campus.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on products and buildings.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in various systems.
- Repair and service landscape electrical and HVAC systems as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Building Maintenance
- Paint clean and complete repairs and maintenance requests as assigned.
- Perform general carpentry tasks and assembling components with hand and power tools.
- Seasonal Equipment and Grounds Maintenance
- Maintain seasonal equipment by sharpening blades changing fluids and cleaning for storage.
- Conduct landscape maintenance including trimming trees removing brush and operating heavy equipment for tasks like grading and snow removal.
- Maintain Professional and Technical Knowledge
- Completing required trainings
- Attending educational workshops
- Protects the Credibility of the Rawhide Mission
- Complying with the Rawhide standard of conduct
- Setting an example in words and actions that is consistent with the values and beliefs of Rawhide
- Contributes to Team Effort
- Performing other duties as directed or assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 12 years of maintenance or relatable experience.
- Experience making structural repairs to buildings.
- Proficient in general carpentry.
- Familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment.
Working Conditions
- Regularly stand walk bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent use of hands and arms for tool operation and repairs.
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Operate heavy equipment and handle loud environments with PPE.
- Visual acuity and hearing required for detailed tasks and diagnostics.
- Ability to respond to urgent maintenance needs swiftly.
