The Opportunity:
The UCF Student Success and WellBeing Recreation and Wellness Center is currently accepting applications for a Campus Recreation Coordinator (Coordinator of Fitness). This role assists with the management and operation of a variety of Fitness programs and facilities. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation (Assistant Director of Fitness) and supervises approximately 80 student employees.
This is an Auxiliary funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates and develops a comprehensive fitness program including but not limited to Group Exercise Personal Training Fitness Certifications and Fitness Program special events.
Assists in the overall management and staffing of the fitness floor to include fitness supervisors and attendants.
Responsible for risk management oversight within program to include CPR/First Aid audits facility audits policy development and injury report review.
Performs daily reviews of intake forms and health history questionnaires and assignment of clients for the personal training program.
Supervise all fitness education within the program to include instructor recruitment teaching prep course program hosting and implementing instructor and trainer certification and offering inservice and continuing education opportunities for staff development.
Supervise a graduate assistant two student leads and 80 student employees for all fitness programs and floor coverage. Areas of responsibility include recruitment hiring training supervising evaluating and overall development through a progressive training program and continual education.
Responsible for the budget management for assigned areas including revenue reports for personal training.
Ensures maintenance including preventative maintenance appearance and appropriate inventory of all fitness equipment and supplies and assist in recommending future purchases. Works with fitness vendors and maintenance staff to ensure the RWC has updated and functioning equipment.
Manage all technology and software related to the fitness program including Fusion access management software group exercise schedules personal training assessment software website updates and events calendar.
Work closely with Student Government (SG) to meet the goals objectives and expectations as one of their primary funded agencies.
Assists in marketing and assessment efforts for the Fitness program.
Serve as an American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA Instructor.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors and 2 years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 0 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Exercise Science Exercise Physiology Kinesiology or related field of study.
Current certification in group fitness and/or personal training by NCCA accredited certification body such as ACE NETA ACSM NSCA or NASM.
Current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
Experience working in a university recreation setting and providing oversight for campus fitness programs.
Additional Application Materials Required:
