ABA SPECIALIST 212 days; teacher pay scale182 day school year 30 day summer program 7.5 hours a day 5 days a : Monday through Friday 7:30am to 3:00pm Reporting to: Principal Location: Billerica MAKey Responsibilities: All responsibilities will be completed under the direct supervision of a BoardCertified Behavior Analyst to adhere to the BACB guidelines and to ensure that the intern can fully complete all of their supervised fieldwork requirements with competence. Behavioral Assessments: Assist BCBA in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) preference assessments and other necessary skill assessments. Developing Behavior Intervention Plans: Support the creation and implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a licensed BCBA. Goal and Program Development: Assist BCBA with writing behavior and skill acquisition IEP goals. The intern will also be responsible for helping develop programs and data collection systems to teach each of these goals and plan for generalization. Staff Training: Assist BCBA with training team members on student behavior intervention plans data collection systems crisis management and safety procedures skill acquisition programs and overall behavior management across the classroom community and vocational settings. Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data on students behavior monitor progress and help BCBA make datadriven decisions to modify interventions as needed. Direct Student Interaction: Provide direct oneonone therapy with students implementing behavior plans and interventions across settings (e.g. classroom community job sites). Collaboration with Team: Participate in team meetings case discussions and collaborate with other clinical staff including teachers Speech Language Pathologists Occupational Therapists Social Workers/School Counselors and other professionals. This includes professionally sharing feedback data behavior plan updates and any relevant information that can help the students progress. Participate in IEP Meetings: Attend and participate in students IEP meetings with your supervising BCBA. The intern will share data regarding the students current behavior and progress toward previously set goals. This may include graphs or data collected from behavioral interventions showing trends patterns and areas that need improvement. Parent communication: The intern will assist the BCBA with parent communication as needed to ensure that both the school and home environments are working together to promote the students success. Participate in professional development trainingRequirements:Must be enrolled in a BCBA coursework program or have completed coursework for BCBA of 2 years of previous experience in ABA or special education communication and interpersonal to receive constructive feedback and apply it to improve skills and performance. Capable of working both independently and as part of a team to achieve common student other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: Constant standing or walking. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Bends reaches lifts carries twists pushes pulls and handles equipment when performing duties. Able to reach and operate equipment and systems safely and effectively.
