Job Description

Woburn Public Schools

School Year

Title One Teacher

The Title I teacher promotes and develops successful instruction for students and performs related duties in accordance with district policies under the direction of the Elementary Curriculum Coordinator and his/her building principal. The Title 1 teacher is responsible for group and individual instruction of students. The Title 1 teacher coplans coteaches and models best practices in the classroom. The Title 1 teacher measures student progress. The Title I teacher is also responsible for partnering with parents through collaboration communication and training.

Qualifications and Skill Set:

  • Elementary Certification
  • Knowledge of researchbased best practices and interventions in all content areas.
  • Ability to analyze student and school data.
  • Ability to effectively develop and deliver contentspecific professional learning.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement small group remedial and enrichment instruction across content areas
  • Coplan and coteach with staff members across content areas
  • Coordinate with all building staff to develop WIN schedules across the district
  • Organize resources and support staff in determining best instructional materials to use with students
  • Provide ongoing support around district initiatives
  • Set the agenda and run teacher PLCs. Provide feedback from PLCs to the district to help coordinate Professional Development
  • Support buildingbased interventionists
  • Assist in the running of district and buildingbased Professional Development
  • Support curriculum writing and revisions in Atlas as well as communicate to staff
  • Plan and coordinate family engagement activities in the building
  • Attend monthly district meetings
  • All other duties as assigned by the building principal or Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction

Terms of Employment: As outlined in the Agreement Between The Woburn Teachers Association and The Woburn School Committee.
