Maintenance Position

JOB TITLE: Buildings & Grounds Maintenance/Special Projects Worker 5:30 2:00 or other hours dependent upon the work requiredJOB DESCRIPTION: Inspect different equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required. Must have a general knowledge of plumbing carpentry electricity grounds keeping masonry and general maintenance. Must be able to do general repairs building renovations and know his/her limitations referring to a specialist when in doubt. To do well in this role one should have previous experience in maintenance be highly skilled with various hand and power tools and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals. The employee should possess the ability to get along with others and be flexible in his/her schedule responsibilities and possess a variety of skills encompassing most of the construction trades. A building maintenance workers must always remain aware of their limitations and request the services of a licensed professional when the workers lack of expertise or local ordinances require regular inspections to determine areas that need attention and then perform the : Reports to the Buildings and Grounds DirectorEQUIPMENT USED: Hand and power tools; construction vehicles and machinery hand and power cleaning equipment; test meters and gauges; alarm system; HVAC equipment; telephone. Desire to continue career with computers and software relating to maintenance and to read chemical to read material safety data sheets (MSDS).Ability to initiate and complete work a valid drivers license commercial Class B preferred able to drive and qualify under the districts insurance carrier when driving a district Functions:Maintain school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of district that all activities conform to district effectively with all members of the school district and to change productively and handle other tasks as operate all equipment and machinery as ResponsibilitiesAssist in maintaining school buildings and grounds in top in promoting the safety health and comfort of students and employees in school buildings and a high standard of safety cleanliness and efficiency in all maintenance and repair preventative maintenance repair and installation in connection with:Carpentry electrical masonry and HVAC and interior of groundsMove equipment and materials within and between school overtime when emergencies arise in order to prevent disruption of the removal and treatment of walkways and parking areas Act as a substitute custodian when district policies at all abreast of new information innovative ideas and to district health and safety duties assigned by the Buildings and Grounds Director or Administrative Staff.
