Senior Director U.S. Supplier Development

Introduction

The Sourcing team is embarking on a new phase of growth on our journey to become the most trusted and resilient supplier powered by Walmart. We are accomplishing this by activating a new strategy streamlining our structure and doubling down on fostering a psychologically safe environment empowering our associates to move faster collaborating more easily and win together

As the Senior Director U.S. Supplier Development you will lead a team to help deliver on Walmarts commitment to increase the sourcing of products made grown or assembled in the U.S. Most notably you will lead Walmarts annual Open Call event which connects small and midsize businesses with the opportunity to sell their products to Walmart supporting the growth of Americanmade businesses.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading supplier outreach and development initiatives with a focus on businesses. This role is responsible for planning and executing supplier events and summits developing strategies to grow direct spend with domestic suppliers and serving as a key liaison between suppliers sourcing teams and merchants. The ideal candidate will assess supplier capabilities manage tactical action plans and ensure new suppliers are prepared to meet Walmart standards through targeted development and training. This position plays a critical role in building a resilient sustainable and inclusive U.S. supplier pipeline.
  • Providing overall direction for growth of U.S. suppliers throughout the company by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing communicating building support for and implementing business strategies plans and practices ; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customerfocused environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
  • Directing continuous improvement of programs by educating sourcing merchants and other associates on the value proposition of doing business with U.S. based suppliers; initiating meetings with sourcing and merchants to review goals and update progress; cultivating relationships with suppliers to facilitate the presentation of samples and point of sale materials; and orchestrating and managing supplier summits for merchandising.
  • Overseeing program measurement for area of focus by analyzing reports to identify trends on Walmart spend with current suppliers; tracking sales impact to the business; identifying within reports areas that will increase spend with each U.S. supplier; creating scorecards for review with merchants that result in increasing spend with U.S. suppliers.
  • Overseeing communications and advocates for U.S. suppliers within Walmart stores by educating and influencing key decision makers on the value proposition of doing business with U.S. suppliers.
  • Directing the administration of supplier programs by controlling and adhering to budgetary guidelines for the area

Youll sweep us off our feet if you

  • If you have a masters degree in business administration
  • 4 years experience in Supplier Management or related area.

The annual salary range for this position is $130000.00$260000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelors degree in business or related area and 7 years experience in supply chain transportation logistics or related area. Option 2: 9 years experience in supply chain transportation logistics or related area.
3 years supervisory experience.
