Position Summary:

The Philanthropy Coordinator is responsible for supporting Californiabased fundraisers and all aspects of the philanthropy program in California. This includes assisting the California Region Director of Philanthropy and other philanthropy staff with donor cultivation solicitation and recognition; liaising with various internal and external stakeholders to coordinate donor cultivation and fundraising events across California; managing donor tracking in the fundraising database; updating the monthly forecast; conducting research on donors and prospects; scheduling meetings travel and appointments; and working closely with California Philanthropy team and national Philanthropy Services staff to produce donorcommunications.

This is a fulltime nonexempt position based in or near the San Francisco office. A hybrid inperson/remote office model will be in place for the foreseeable future.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide administrative support to the California Philanthropy Program including working closely with national Philanthropy Services staff to process acknowledgement letters and other donor correspondence; coordinating mailings; processing gifts and pledges; creating and maintaining files calendars and internal reports; assisting in the yearly budget process; and ordering and updating development materials as necessary.
  • Maintain donor contact and gift records in fundraising database enter data in records produce gift and contact reports for California Philanthropy Team submit Philanthropy support tickets and help draft donor contact summaries.
  • Update and share monthly forecast and Relationship Manager Activity reports with CA Philanthropy Team.
  • Oversee yearend donor stewardship including: production of holiday card sourcing end of year gift managing mailing of California Year in Review and holiday gift and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Assist California Philanthropy staff with donor cultivation and fundraising events including working collaboratively with programmatic counterparts and helping to coordinate event logistics scheduling pre and postevent staff meetings and communications and helping set up and execute events on the ground.
  • Manage CA Philanthropy SharePoint document storage.
  • In coordination with CA Board Liaison help plan logistics for California Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and onsite execution including dayof meeting set up planning and coordination of catering services development of meeting materials and the coordination editing and technical execution of onsite presentations including running related A/V equipment and troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Aids in sourcing and contract negotiation for CAB meeting hotel accommodations meeting locations and related special events.
  • Schedule and plan logistics for internal and external meetings and conference calls help produce relevant materials and record meeting notes.
  • Provide research and solicitation strategy support for California Philanthropy staff including tracking (and in some cases generating) foundation corporate and individual prospect research.
  • Build maintain and support effective informationsharing channels in collaboration with Parks for People Protect and Government Affairs staff; attend departmental team meetings and report out key project takeaways to CA Philanthropy team; leverage existing program information resources to create donorappropriate materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Fundraising experience including experience with fundraising events a plus.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational skills.
  • Minimum 23 years support experience.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Computer proficiency including fluency with the various Microsoft Office applications (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency with complex databases or donor management software a plus.
  • Ability to use good judgment take initiative and make recommendations in resolving problems and provide guidance to other departments and field offices.
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment with flexibility and a sense of humor.
  • Ability to represent The Trust for Public Land to the public.
  • Must be able and willing to travel throughout the state for inperson board meetings project tours philanthropy events and team coordination including inperson team retreats.
  • Knowledge of conservation and environmental issues a plus.
  • Strong commitment to TPLs shared values (Belonging Creativity Collaboration Impact and Hope) to effectively work across the organization.
Compensation:
Trust for Public Land is a hybrid work environment and this role will ideally be located near a Trust for Public Land office. As a fulltime employee you will be eligible for the Trust for Public Lands comprehensive benefits program which includes medical dental and vision insurance vacation and sick pay plus holidays a year end office closure and a 403(b)retirement plan currently with up to a 7% company match. We offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience; the anticipated hiring range for this position is $60000 to $65000 per year. In addition Trust for Public Land offers locality pay to eligible regular employees in select geographic areas.
