Northwest Animal Care Hospital a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner is seeking a fulltime Pet Resort Specialist to join ourteam located in the Everett / Mill Creek area. The purpose of this position is to provide for the daily care of boarding pets. This includes feeding wateringcleaning walking bathing medicating and monitoring the wellbeing of dogs and cats in our boarding facility. Thisposition requires loveand understandingof animals the ability to warmly welcome clients as well as compassionately care for theirpets. Our ideal candidate is a teamplayerwho is passionate about animal care customer service and is highlymotivated.
Duties of a Pet Resort Specialist include but are not limited to:
Communicating with owners management and other staff about the needs of animals in care ofthe hospital.
Work collaboratively with boarding and hospital teams to ensure a safe and comfortable stay forall pets.
Provide boarding dogs and cats with clean bedding fresh water and food.
Clean soiled cages pet accidents and outside eliminations in a timely manner and in accordancewith hospital/kennel protocols.
Maintain a clean safe and sanitary environment at all timesthroughout the facility.
Laundry and housekeeping duties as assigned.
Using Vetspire software to read pet files record appetites enter bathroom notes enter chargesetc.
Monitor and report signs of illness injury or behavior concerns to leadership and/or hospitalteam.
Follow feeding medication administration and care guidelines set forth by owners andleadership/medical team.
Oversee small canine playgroups for safety and manage the behavior of dogs in play groups orone on one play if indicated.
Report any equipment malfunction and safety concerns to Pet Resort Manger/ Practice Manager.
Follow all protocols set forth which includes how to handle animals that are sick injured and/oraggressive.
All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
Squatting reaching standing and walking throughout the day.
Must have a genuine love for the wellbeing and care of pets staying at our facility and must haveexperience working with both cats and dogs in a variety of circumstances.
Capable of effectively working in a team setting as well as independently.
Must be responsible reliable and punctual.
Working Conditions:
The work environment is within a boarding facility that is an extension of an animal hospital. Pet Resort Specialistsmust be prepared to work in a fastpaced environment that can be physically and emotionally demanding. Theymust be able to handle clients interactions and be prepared to perform housekeeping duties as described need to be interested in animals and committed to their care and wellbeing. They must be able towork on their feet for long periods of time and are aware that they can be exposed to bites and scratches and thatthe kennel can become a loud environment. The boarding facility operates 7 days a week 365 days a year anddoes not close due to inclement weather or holidays. This is a fulltime position and scheduled for 4 10hr shiftsper week which can include weekends and holidays. Shift days and times vary based on the needs of the boardingfacility. Compensation starts at $18/hr. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factorsincluding your skills qualifications experience and location.
