  • The 5th Grade Teacher at Saint Patrick Catholic School is vital in fostering a nurturing and academically enriching environment for students. The teacher is responsible for implementing the schools curriculum integrating Catholic values into daily lessons and promoting a love of learning among 5thgrade students.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Catholic Values Integration:

      • Infuse Catholic teachings values and traditions into daily lessons and activities.

      • Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture that reflects the principles of Catholic education.

      • Incorporate prayer scripture and moral development into the curriculum.

    • Curriculum Implementation:

      • Develop and implement lesson plans in accordance with the schools curriculum guidelines and standards.

      • Differentiate instruction to meet students diverse needs fostering academic and spiritual growth.

      • UDL (Universal Design for Learning)proficient

      • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students in the learning process.

    • Classroom Management:

      • Establish and maintain a wellorganized and conducive learning environment.

      • Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote a positive and respectful atmosphere.

      • Encourage student responsibility and accountability for behavior.

    • Assessment and Feedback:

      • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.

      • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and behavior.

      • Collaborate with colleagues to analyze assessment data and make datadriven instructional decisions.

    • Parent and Community Engagement:

      • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress upcoming events and classroom activities.

      • Collaborate with parents and the broader community to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

      • Attend and actively participate in parentteacher conferences and school events.

    • Professional Development:

      • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends methodologies and best practices.

      • Participate in school meetings workshops and training sessions.

    • Collaboration:

      • Positively collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary projects and activities.

      • Work closely with the schools leadership team to support the schools overall mission and vision.

    Supervision Duties:

    • Recess monitoring

    • Endofday dismissal on the playground (traffic control)

    • Intermittent lunch duty

    • Oversee safety drills with the class

    • Escort students to specialist classrooms

    Mobility and Endurance Requirements:

    • Ability to travel between three floors of the school building (no elevator on site)

    • Ability to stand and circulate during recess or lunch duty

    • Ability to circulate and monitor in the classroom

    • Walk two blocks up the hill to the Church for Mass and prayer services

    • Ability to work from 8 am3:30 pm MTThF and 8 am4:25 pm W

    Qualifications

    • Practicing Catholic

    • A bachelors degree in education or a related field; teaching certification is required.

    • Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of and commitment to Catholic teachings.

    • Previous experience teaching in a Catholic school setting is preferred.

    • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

    • Effective communication skills with students parents and colleagues.

    • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the needs of a diverse student population.

    Salary Range: Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications. Salary range is between $55000 to $90000.
