JOIN OUR TEAM
As Senior Software Engineer for Data Platform you will design implement and improve our data platform solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in building data platforms enjoys solving complex problems and thrives in a collaborative fastpaced environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring our data systems are efficient reliable and scalable to meet the demands of our growing business. It also involves fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence within the team. This position is unlimitedand located in Munich.
WHAT YOULL DO
- design build and maintain a reliable and sustainable cloudbased data platform to process large volumes of data
- optimise the solutions architecture and systems for performance scalability quality and costefficiency
- collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand data platform needs and deliver effective solutions
- implement solutions to support data governance and enable proper access control
- automate monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and reliability of the systems
- conduct research and evaluate new technologies tools and best practices
- develop custom code using robust software architecture and comprehensive test automation when opensource or thirdparty alternatives are not viable
- support team members and contribute to fostering a culture of learning and collaboration
- support users in understanding and utilising the data platform effectively while troubleshooting and resolving reported issues
- define team goals set clear expectations and ensure alignment with company objectives and business priorities
- manage team capacity assign resources effectively and ensure timely delivery of highquality solutions
- lead efforts to define and implement best practices for data platform development governance and operations
YOU COME WITH
- bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
- 5 years of experience in data platform engineering software engineering software architecture or a similar role with a focus on building scalable data platforms
- experience in designing and implementing robust and sustainable solutions and software architectures
- fluency in Python and SQL with a strong understanding of software development best practices
- strong knowledge and handson experience with data manipulation specifically with columnar databases (Snowflake is a plus)
- knowledge and handson experience with cloud platforms (AWS is desired)
- experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes is desired)
- familiarity with the internals of workflow orchestration tools (Airflow) and data transformation frameworks (dbt)
- familiarity with realtime data processing and streaming platforms would be nice to have
- clear communication written and spoken including fluency in English
- previous leadership experience is valued including mentoring guiding or leading a team
