Job Description
Payments Products Development department aims to support Visas Global Product strategy of growing our business through product offerings that add value to the payments experience and to capitalize on emerging market opportunities in regional payment networks and digital wallets. PPD team is responsible for architecture design and development of Visas digital and mobile products including Click to Pay Visa Mobile Secure Remote Commerce Visa Token Services Push Payments and Visa Digital Commerce App.
PPD is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a worldclass team of software engineers to deliver clientready solutions by building the next generation of systems automation and tools to support overall productivity and developer efficiencies. You will provide strategy vision and technical leadership to the product development organizations across Visa Mobile to ensure engineering teams are building products that use a foundational approach that prioritizes high availability and security.
You will be responsible for hiring and developing top engineering talent keeping the team highly engaged and motivated while delivering exceptional results. Your ability to work across functions and teams will allow you to ensure alignment of priorities and goals drive results and foster the right culture and environment to achieve Engineering Excellence and Innovation. You will be responsible for working with product development quality engineering security engineering enterprise operations and other internal and external technology partners to deliver products for business integration & enablement.
This position will be based in Warsaw Poland and will report directly to our Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage GENAI for all development and testing efforts
Recruit and hire top talent for our JAVA Payment Services SWIFT iOS Applications and KOTLIN Android Applications.
Focus on automation and aspiring towards zero production defects.
Able to develop individual career development plans for team members mentor and grow their talent.
Able to work in a matrix organization empowering other team members and delivering results.
Nurture team of developers and test engineers by motivating and mentoring influencing large cross functional teams.
Drive technology and business vision design develop and evolve highly scalable and highly performant mobile applications using functional programming paradigm.
Partner with our product management teams to develop strong and effective relationships.
Work with other engineering and product leaders to evolve our delivery processes and drive crossteam collaboration and cooperation.
Provide training and professional development opportunities for fulltime employees.
Own full stack quality scalability and availability across multiple applications features and technology initiatives
Point of contact for senior leadership stakeholders and crossfunctional teams
Create and implement goals and action plans to align with overall organization objectives.
Emulate strong management and leadership principles with the capacity to engage motivate mentor and coach teams distributed across various geographical locations.
Communicate and adapt presentations to various stakeholders regarding goals planning process project initiatives team innovation and results.
Implement gather and report team/project metrics to track execution and effectiveness.
Act decisively and collaborate to remove impediments for the team.
Partner with Test Release Engineering Performance Security and Release Management for timely releases and resolution of any impediments
Establish and maintain relationships with payment partners in the industry creating technology solutions providing highly scalable UI integrations.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD OR 11 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 23 years of work experience leading engineering teams and people management experience
Deep understanding of enterprise architecture and operational best practices for building and maintaining highly available / scalable applications
You have experience with consumer facing mobile application development
Experience with mobile technologies such as SWIFT and KOTLIN.
Experience with microservices architecture with Java Spring Boot
Develop and utilize MCP Servers along with internal and external models
Experience with containers and cloud native solution development
Familiarity with deep learning toolkits: ScikitLearn AutoGluon PyTorchTensorFlow.
Familiarity with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) Vector Datastores
LLMs and LangChain/llamaindex
Proficient in programming languages or frameworks: Python Jax or PyTorch.
Apply ML technologies to solve realworld business problems.
Experiences with large language models (e.g. BERT GPT Transformers).
Demonstrated experience in machine learning deep learning or reinforcemen learning.
Experience with designing and building integrations using Docker Kubernetes Java JavaScript REST and SOAP web services
Experience with translating business requirements into technical designs
Proven track record of responsibilities as a technical lead/solutions architect
Highly proficient with Continuous Integration / Delivery framework (CI/CD) release and change management Sprint based agile delivery
Ability to work with teams in multiple geographical locations and time zones
Experience with Payment and/or Credit Card processing considered a plus
