The Manager IT4IT/Technology Operations practice will help the practice lead (PL) in managing the relationships with MDs and Partners for the Acceleration Centers growth strategic agenda delivery of projects staff engagement capacity planning/management. S/he will build a culture of continuous improvement and will work closely with the business leaders and executive leadership team.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Atlassian tools focused Architecture & Delivery team and drive the design implementation and optimization of Atlassian Products including but not limited to JIRA Service Management DevOps etc. This role requires strong leadership technical expertise and a deep understanding of Atlassian products.
Position Requirements:
Skills & Competencies
Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the team defining goals objectives and priorities aligned with organizational objectives. Develop and implement strategies to drive the adoption of Atlassian tools across the organization.
Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of Atlassian tools engineers and specialists fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement. Provide guidance support and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Atlassian Jira Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on Atlassian products providing guidance and best practices for their implementation configuration and integration within organization ecosystem. Ensure that Atlassian tools are effectively utilized to support software development and delivery processes.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the team and across the organization. Implement best practices automation techniques and Atlassian Jira workflows to enhance productivity efficiency and quality of software delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to understand their requirements priorities and challenges. Collaborate with business leaders development teams and IT operations to align Atlassian focused initiatives with business objectives and drive positive outcomes.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance on Atlassian technologies methodologies and best practices. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on our strategy and roadmap.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with Atlassian and other technology vendors including licensing support agreements and strategic partnerships. Collaborate with vendors to leverage their expertise and resources in driving the success of our initiatives.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of Atlassian processes and tools. Monitor and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and make datadriven decisions.
Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the organization. Encourage experimentation innovation and knowledge sharing to drive ongoing optimization and excellence in practices.
Jira Configuration and Customization: Set up and configure Jira projects workflows screens fields permissions and notifications. Customize Jira schemes (workflows screen schemes permission schemes etc.) as per requirements. Manage Jira addons and plugins to enhance functionality.
User Support and Training: Provide support to users and troubleshoot Jira issues. Develop and conduct user training sessions and documentation. Serve as the primary point of contact for Jirarelated queries and issues.
Maintenance and Optimization: Perform regular system maintenance including upgrades and performance tuning. Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation. Implement best practices for Jira usage and maintenance.
Integration and Automation: Integrate Jira with other tools (Confluence Bitbucket Slack etc.) to streamline workflows. Develop and manage automation rules to optimize processes using Jira Automation.
Reporting and Analytics: Create and manage Jira dashboards and reports to provide insights to teams and management. Utilize Jira Query Language (JQL) to create custom filters and reports.
Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of the Jira instance including managing user access and permissions.
Technical Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field. Masters degree or MBA preferred.
More than 10 years of experience and indepth knowledge and handson experience with Atlassian products including Jira Bitbucket Confluence and Bamboo. Experience in customizing configuring and integrating Atlassian tools like Jira
Handson experience with Atlassian Jira installations migrations customization patching and plugin installation
Expertise on Jira architecture (both cloud & onpremises).
Expertise in leading Jira migrations from both Jira Cloud to Jira Cloud and Jira onprem to Jira Cloud
Experience using Jira Project Configurator
Experience with Jira REST APIs for Cloud/On premise to extract data from Jira and load to Jira
Experience in migrating successfully large Jira projects comprising Issues including history comments attachments workflows links users
Possesses Java Programing skills
Experience leading mapping sessions with the client for Jira migration
Deep understanding of SaaS platforms and cloud environments as well as working with Rest APIs webhooks native or appbased automations
Strong knowledge of security practices encryption and access controls
Experience with scripting language Groovy for Jira automation
Advanced skills in creating complex JQL queries for reporting and dashboard creation
Experience with Jira Automation rules to optimize processes
Understanding of database structures used by Jira
Experience with Git or other version control systems for managing Jirarelated scripts and configurations
Experience with installing configuring and managing Jira addons and plugins
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS Azure or GCP especially for cloudbased Jira deployments
Understanding of DevOps methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Skills in configuring and managing Jira backups and recovery processes
Experience with upgrading Jira versions and migrating Jira instances between different environments
Certification Preferred:
Relevant certifications in Atlassian Agile or DevOps products are desirable.
Atlassian certified Jira Administration certification for Data center.
Atlassian certified Jira Administration certification for Cloud.
Atlassian certified Jira Project Administrator
