Job Description
Job Opportunity: Deputy HOD – Civil & Structural
A reputed engineering consultancy firm is looking for an experienced Deputy HOD – Civil & Structural to lead and manage civil and structural engineering functions oversee manpower planning and ensure the timely delivery of highquality projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Manpower Planning: Assess current and future workload to determine staffing needs for engineers and technicians; oversee recruitment accordingly.
Resource Allocation: Assign lead engineers and other staff based on project volume and timelines.
Progress Monitoring: Review project progress regularly against schedules and reallocate resources as needed.
Team Leadership: Motivate and support team members to achieve timely project completion and client satisfaction.
Technical Support: Provide guidance and expertise to department colleagues when required.
Project Oversight: Stay informed about all ongoing projects and conduct periodic site visits for feedback and corrective actions.
Standards Management: Create and maintain engineering standards including specifications design calculations and bills of material.
Technology & Tools: Attend industry seminars keep the department updated on latest technologies and manage software needs.
Site Coordination: Visit sites to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
Training: Mentor and develop junior engineers.
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil Engineering with 20 years of experience
OR
Master’s in Civil/Structural Engineering with 15 years of experience
Experience in an engineering consultancy firm is mandatory (20 years preferred)
Additional certifications in structural/civil engineering tools or project management will be a plus
