Job Description

What will you be doing 

Are you a Fuel Handling Engineer ready to make a real impact in the nuclear industry Join a cuttingedge project where youll design nextgen fuel handling systems from concept to implementation and play a key role in shaping the future of nuclear technology.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

Youll be bringing complex fuel handling systems to life. From concept development to detailed design youll work on everything from rails and clamps to cranes casks and hydraulic actuators.

  • Defining and developing earlystage concepts and mechanical solutions.
  • Capturing and refining requirements through optioneering and trade studies.
  • Running structural calcs and functional assessments.
  • Creating 3D models and supporting with detailed technical reports.
  • Engaging with engineers analysts and stakeholders to align on design goals.

Who are we looking for 

  • 3 years in mechanical design ideally within a regulated or highintegrity sector.
  • Strong experience with structural assessments CAD modelling and concept development.
  • Handson involvement with moving mechanical assemblies or fuel handlingstyle equipment.
  • Familiarity with technical report writing requirement capture and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications :

Experience skills and qualifications required: 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (e.g. Nuclear Structural or Design Engineering).
  • Confident communicator with experience in stakeholder engagement and collaborative engineering environments.
  • Experience in mechanical design ideally within highly regulated environments like nuclear aerospace defence or related.
