About the role

Biophysicists at Sygnature Discovery play essential roles in supporting and leading integrated client projects as well as developing and delivering customised biophysical assays to support and drive preclinical drug discovery campaigns. Through the generation of highquality data such as affinity and kinetic data to inform structureactivity relationships (SAR) and mechanism of action (MoA) investigations for complex systems biophysics forms a key component of many single and multidiscipline projects.
Due to continued growth we are expanding our talented Biophysics team at our Nottingham site. This is a fulltime onsite position.

Role Responsibilities:

    • Utilise knowledge and experience of biophysical technologies on active drug discovery projects.
    • Develop a detailed understanding of biophysical approaches and share knowledge of multiple techniques with the wider biophysics team.
    • Present and share data and expertise to our global multidisciplinary biophysics and protein science groups.
    • Be responsible for the maintenance of biophysical instrumentation.
    • Provide support for other members of the team such as junior team members or new instrument users including instrument specific training where required.

Candidate Requirements:

    • PhD or relevant experience in Pharmacology Biochemistry or a related Biologyspecific discipline.
    • Handson expertise with SPR MST and DSF/FTSA is ideal. Experience with BLI ITC and NMR is desirable.
    • A strong scientific track record with experience built within a drug discovery environment is highly desirable.
    • A working knowledge of current trends in drug discovery.
    • Ability to develop novel assays from first principles and interpret complex biological datasets.
    • Aptitude for proactive troubleshooting and adoption of industryleading practices for generation and analysis of robust scientific data
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fastpaced environment.
    • Experience in project leadership or line management is desirable but not essential.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to present complex scientific ideas and datasets to key stakeholders.
