Job Description
Job Title: Senior Power Systems Engineer
Location: Manchester (1 Day/Month)
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent
Sectors: Defence
Are you ready to take on a critical role in advancing the performance and reliability of highpower platforms ALTEN UK is looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to support the design validation and electrical maturity of a major defence programme. Working on cuttingedge submarine power systems youll carry out detailed analysis and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to help shape the future of naval technology. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct load flow short circuit and stability analysis of complex power systems
- Manage and maintain the electrical load budget to support design development
- Develop and validate electrical models using industrystandard tools
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams suppliers and stakeholders on electrical power architecture
- Prepare and deliver technical reports calculations and presentations outlining findings and recommendations
- Support the verification and validation (V&V) activities of the electrical platform
Qualifications :
Essential skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Systems Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience working with high power and medium voltage distribution systems
- Handson experience with electrical load budget analysis and load flow studies
- Proficient in power system analysis tools such as ETAP Simulink/Simscape or MATLAB
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills within a technical environment
- Previous experience in the Defence Aerospace or highintegrity engineering sectors preferred
- Must be eligible for UKEO Security Clearance
