Clinical enhancement support services is a program within the Taproot organization that supports the direct service staff in providing therapeutic intervention services. Our team of experienced clinicians specialize in addressing a wide array of complex issues. These include trauma loss anxiety depression grief attachment challenges family relationship dynamics cooccurring disorders severe and complex behaviors and Indigenous health and wellbeing.
Through collaborative practice our team supports Taproot staff working with children youth families and individuals. We offer mentorship through psychoeducation tailored clinical consultation services modeling community connection and cultural support for Taproot Community Services staff. Our approach is individualized strengthbased traumainformed and grounded in evidencebased biopsychosocialcultural practices.
The Clinical Enhancement Specialist supports the organization with enhancing services by developing coordinating implementing and evaluating interventions and client outcomes based on best practices in the mental health field. The program operates within a multidisciplinary team environment and within the cultural context and values held by the family; placing importance on connecting people to cultural activities that promote health and wellbeing. This program is designed to support a childs development (cognitive behavioural physical and cultural) and family reunification; it is founded on the principles of Attachment Theory Family Systems Theory Cognitive Behavioural Theory and is rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing and being. The clinical will bring together Indigenous Teachings with western theory and research.
Schedule:
One (1) permanent fulltime position with a weekly schedule of 40 hours
Monday through Friday 08:3016:30 with flexibility required.
Travel Requirements:
The Clinical Enhancement Specialist will travel (50%) northern Alberta to provide direct supports to clients within their communities. 50% of the time case management and administrative tasks can completed from an approved office within the consultation area in Edmonton or Northern Alberta.
Liaise with Taproot program teams to provide continuity of care.
Develop Coordinate implement and evaluate clinical interventions.
Evaluate client outcomes based on client goals.
Coordinate ongoing care and support transition.
Connect staff and clients to Indigenous cultural supports to promote holistic healing and wellness.
Provide holistic and psychoeducational support for staff who work with children and families
Provide Experiential and educational support for staff to navigate western and Indigenous world views.
Serve both urban and rural areas throughout Alberta
Maintain clinical records in accordance with profession. Ensure all required documentation is timely accurate and complete.
Ensure that all professional licensing and/or other accreditation requirements meet legal regulatory and other requirements.
Ensure staff utilize practices that promote health welfare safety and security of persons served and staff.
Consult confer and collaborate with educational resources and health care professionals.
Represent the agency at conferences meetings functions as appropriate.
Maintain registration in good standing with appropriate regulatory body

Masters degree in the field of counselling therapy mental health psychology or social work
Registration that includes permission to perform psychosocial interventions within Alberta
2 years recent experience in clinical counselling and case management
Excellent skills in collaborative leadership and team work.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated ability to apply case management principles.
Comprehensive knowledge of Trauma informed and strength based practices that can increase connection to community the land and decrease further trauma.
Demonstrated ability in conducting physical mental psychosocial/functional assessments from an Indigenous world view is an asset.
Knowledge and comfortability with Indigenous teachings theory and principles embedded in actions practices and values held by Indigenous people.
Ability to provide leadership and direction.
Demonstrated ability to teach demonstrate coach and facilitate staff clients and families.
Ability to reprioritize and adjust to interruptions and changing requirements.
Knowledge of the goals objectives structure and operations of major social service agencies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills ability to comprehend information communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to plan and implement short and longterm goals.
Skill in the use of computers and related applications including Windows and Linux platforms and MS and/or Open Office suites; willingness to learn and adapt to new software.
Able to demonstrate an understanding of Taproot values policies and procedures
Valid Class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract.
Ability to travel 50% of your work schedule to/within the consultation area
