The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is seeking three competent confident
motivated individuals to fill the positions of three Middle Years School Teachers (Gr 69) at Father
Gamache Memorial School located in Fond Du Lac Saskatchewan. In this role you will provide
strong interpersonal skills commitment to learning and teaching in projectbased ways and
provide an enthusiastic learning environment for students.
The ADEA is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations
communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation Hatchet Lake First Nation and
Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1400
students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest
technology progressively piloting programs and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom
and school curriculum.
This competition is open to all applicants who reside in Canada; and preference will be given to
First Nation or other Indigenous applicants who possess the qualifications knowledge and skills
to meet the minimum suitability requirements as stated for the position.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Be aware of any allergies a student may have.
Establish clear instructional direction to support a positive learning climate in the context
of the Denesuline culture and language.
Offer students the opportunity to interact with peers and learn social skills learn school
routines and build a strong foundation for further success in school.
Required to plan and organize materials ahead of time so when the student arrive the
room and the Educators are ready to engage with student.
Provide positive ways for family engagement for learning success and provide a
welcoming space that draws parents into the classroom.
Assess and document student learning daily.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Must be patient flexible observant and passionate.
Must have communications skills such as: verbal and nonverbal active listening and
empathy.
Must have strong understanding of Effective Practices Policies and Guidelines and
Saskatchewan Curriculum.
To follow the provincial Ministry of Education curricula and focuses on holistic child
development including the socialemotional physical intellectual and spiritual domains.
Actively engage with families children and community members to understand their
backgrounds and experiences to support an equitable and inclusive school environment.
Ability to work effectively with administrators colleagues central office schoolbased
staff students parents and community.
Maintain confidentiality of students and other professional information
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Education or equivalent.
Must be eligible for or posses a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate.
Experience in teaching First Nations students at a remote community would be an asset.
First Aid Certification would be an asset
Related training or experience in the field of education would be a definite asset.
