Our DCFO Finance Division is looking for a Senior Manager Business Technology Support. This positions owns the financial systems transaction flow and system interactions for the enterprise ensuring the smooth and timely flow of financial data maintaining strong lines of communication with I&IT Finance Embedded teams and Business Units identifying initiating and overseeing implementation of new process and system changes; applying lean principles and continuous improvement to ensure that the overall financial and process flow is efficient.
The incumbent represents DCFO Finance Division as the Oracle product owner by overseeing both day to day Oracle EBS support as well during the project through solutions design and evaluation from the business perspective business processes reengineering system enhancements and integrations and works closely with business teams to reengineer and streamline processes impacted by Financial Systems initiatives to ensure overall processes are efficient (lean) with proper governance and controls and in sync with processes within the business units; supporting the DCFO office by ensuring project goals are in alignment with the enterprise priorities and objectives working closely with internal stakeholders external vendor community and thirdparty service providers to achieve project goals. They represent Finance Division including Corporate Controllers Group Corporate Finance and FP&A and partners with ERP Business Sponsor/Lead and by ensuring project goals are in alignment with the program enterprise priorities and objectives and works closely with vendors / technology teams who perform testing activities and submit deliverables.
What will I be doing
- This positions owns the financial systems transaction flow and system interactions for the enterprise ensuring the smooth and timely flow of financial data maintaining strong lines of communication with I&IT Finance Embedded teams and Business Units identifying initiating and overseeing implementation of new process and system changes; applying lean principles and continuous improvement to ensure that the overall financial and process flow is efficient and provides effective governance over management of MX contractual commitments and Metrolinx Financial Policies and Procedures.
- Supports the development and implementation of the Finance Portfolio Technology Roadmap with DCFO and provides subject matter expertise around transformation business process improvements and change management initiatives as well as advice to assist with planning while ensuring successful results.
- Responsible as the business owner for all Oracle EBS technology applications that support DCFO portfolio management and any future technology the design and implantation plans including change management of multiple highly complex enterprise systems projects for business units including but not limited to: Oracle HCM Cloud (Payroll and Human Resources) Oracle EBS Assetlinx (EAM) Unifier and OneStream. Drawing on extensive knowledge of these systems and how they interact ensures that issues with technology applications are addressed through timely escalation to IT Business Unit owners to avoid interruptions to daytoday financial activities.
- Develops and manages project budget and forecast for Financial Systems initiatives.
- Develops monitors and reports strategic and business KPIs and / or metrics to measure the success of the initiatives
- Monitors and reports project progress and finances against budget and forecast to and executive sponsors and be able to explain offplan overages and exceptions.
- Extensive experience with Accounting Revenue accounting Accounts Receivable and Procure to Pay (P2P) processes and financial background to address Metrolinx process pain points and implement multifaceted business improvements considering governance business processes technology and change management.
- Leads and represents Finance Division as the Oracle Product Owner during Financial Systems initiatives transformation and enterprisewide programs to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Collaborates with senior management technical team and external resources to identify root cause issues and resolve any problems affecting organizational business.
- Draws on extensive knowledge of P2P Finance and Accounting processes financial systems and how they interact to ensure that issues with technology applications are addressed timely.
- Collaborates with senior management and provides input and support the selection implementation and integration of new technologies at the enterpriselevel or at the division level including ensuring that new technologies are appropriately integrated and that change is managed to ensure seamless transitions and mitigate disruptions.
- Manages the project upgrade/enhancements progress; offers viable solutions to the issues; implements change practices. Leads a team of Oracle Business Analysts and ensures effective communication between different Metrolinx businesses teams and project teams involved with project upgrade/enhancements.
- Develops business case under the guidance of the DCFO and Corporate Controller to gain support and approval for initiatives from business stakeholders Investment Panel and Technology Change Control Boards.
- Works closely with the Finance and Business Leads to ensure changes in business processes and technology are effectively implemented and communicated to both internal and external stakeholders and that change management principles are applied to optimize effectiveness of rollout with proper training and support (Change Management).
- As part of the Finance Transformation leads as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Enterprise Financial integration between Oracle EBS and OneStream and other Metrolinx Enterprise Systems/Platforms Oversees process improvement and integrations of associated process changes within Financial Systems initiatives transformations and enterprisewide programs.
- Leads and oversees Financial Systems initiatives that meet business needs by managing the daytoday project activities schedules budgets and partnering with I&IT team/external service providers to ensure proper product delivery implementation and change management.
- Provides oversight development and control of change management of multiple highly complex enterprise systems with integrations into Oracle EBS including but not limited to: Oracle HCM Cloud (Payroll and Human Resources) Oracle EBS iProcurement Hyperion Primavera Unifier and OneStream.
- Represents EBS Oracle system to the Finance Division regarding finance initiatives from first concept through to execution into production.
- Cultivates and maintains relationships with senior decision makers to promote and champion the vision of Financial Systems initiatives and reinforce the value and benefits of these initiatives in meeting enterprisewide priorities objectives and corporate vision values and goals.
- Leads a team of 6 Oracle Senior Business Analysts through a matrix reporting structure i.e. task and time management and approval of timesheets. Oversees balancing workload and coaching for performance.
- Builds collaborative relationships with stakeholders/external service providers/contractors (onsite offshare teams and their leadership teams) to ensure smooth project execution and communication strategies are in place.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a degree in Business Administration Engineering Computer Science or a related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent; Masters degree/MBA is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to the success of midsizetolarge initiatives with high complexity and business criticality. Extensive experience in including leadership in governance process systems technology change management and data functions or experience deemed equivalent.
- Progressive experience in managing finance processes budgets forecasts and reporting.
- Experience in ERP system implementation: understanding business process integration between different business systems.
- Oracle EBS functional experience in Finance Project Costing Procurement (P2P) (required).
- Functional experience in EAM Infor (nice to have).
- Experience with Time Systems (Workbrain) is an added value.
- Designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
- Understanding and comfort with integration of highly complex financial systems i.e. Oracle EBS Oracle HCM Cloud Primavera Unifier Hyperion iProcurement OneStream etc.
- Experience with process design business process reengineering and reporting.
- Excellent business analysis technology and problemsolving skills.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices involving all forms of project delivery.
- Knowledge of people management principles and practices.
- Management and leadership skills to lead direct reports and other staff.
