Sales Assistant (Catering)
Job Title: Sales Assistant (Catering)
Hourly Rate: $16.50
Contract Term: 8week term starting June 9 2025
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Position Type: Canada Summer Jobs contract
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must meet the criteria below to qualify forroles funded by Canada Summer Jobs.
- The candidate must be between the ages of 15 and 30 atthe beginning of the employment period.
- The candidate must be a Canadian citizen permanentresident or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
- The candidate must have a valid Social Insurance Numberat the start of employment

Who We Are:
Heritage Park is Canadas largest living history museumand offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the1860s to the early 1950s. The park features historical buildings costumedinterpreters working antiques and various exhibits that provide insight intothe regions past.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts venue site tours as assigned;
- Responds to client telephone and email inquiries asassigned;
- Understands and accurately communicates Heritage Parkguidelines and policies
- Prepares correspondence with high degree ofaccuracy
- Maintains filing systems for completed catered eventsheets industry references and information and collateral marketingmaterials;
- Assists with event payment collection;
- Attends weekly Event Planning meeting and recordsminutes;
- Assists with interdepartmental communication of cateredevent information in terms of distribution of change orders and eventrecaps;
- Assists with data collection for specialized reports asdirected;
- Conducts scheduled photo escorts for wedding clients asrequired;
- Assists Banquet Services as a server and with officeadministration as required; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Must meet the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria
- Prior customer or client service experience is an asset
- Previous administrative experience and/or experience ina hospitality or similar industry is an asset
- Strong skills with computer applications; proficient inMicrosoft Office Suite including Publisher
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detailare essential
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritizetasks
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communicationskills in a clientfacing setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness in handlingconfidential organizational information
- Commitment to continuous learning and development
- All successful candidates over the age of 18 will berequired to go through a Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening ifworking with minors) as a condition of employment.
