Salary Range: $62439 $81172 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Director of Classroom Technology & Learning Spaces the Senior Classroom Systems Integration Architect contributes to the vision direction and policy development for audiovisual classroom and conferencing technology at all UNB campuses. This includes input into annual budgets priority funding requests and related policies.

  • Plan and design infrastructure architecture for hardware and software systems supporting UNBF audiovisual classroom and conferencing technologies
  • Lead strategic planning specification procurement and documentation of media technology across the University
  • Coordinate with the Technical Services Manager to program install and implement new technologies
  • Design and oversee classroom technology systems across campus integrating with global communications and bicampus connectivity
  • Integrate and maintain existing technology infrastructure while planning for future developments
  • Conduct needs analysis with Faculties and Departments to define project requirements and propose bestpractice solutions
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on equipment planning purchasing programming and installation
  • Manage projects ranging from complex integrated lecture theatres to basic smart classroom installations
  • Track and manage infrastructure equipment data including purchase orders serial numbers and system details
  • Ensure system integrity and alignment with Classroom Technology & Services and institutional needs
  • Build and maintain industry and supplier relationships to monitor trends emerging technologies and vendor interoperability
  • Anticipate future technology directions and project needs up to five years ahead
  • Conduct research through reading conferences and engagement with peers in other postsecondary institutions
  • Develop test environments pilot projects and recruit early adopters to evaluate new solutions
  • Lead complex multiyear projects involving CTS Academic Units ITS and Facilities Management
  • Balance largescale initiatives with highvolume maintenance urgent requests and emergency responses
  • Mentor and train staff to broaden architectural and control system expertise and reduce single points of failure
  • Serve as an escalation point for advanced technical issues and coach staff through resolutions
  • Create and manage classroom system architecture documentation and technical standards
  • Participate in onsite installations troubleshooting and system programming to validate and refine design decisions

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Diploma in Electronics Technology or another relevant field.
  • 5 years experience in video conferencing and servicing audiovisual equipment and personal computers.
  • 2 5 years classroom systems programming experience.

Additional Strengths

  • Degree in electrical or computer engineering would be an asset.
  • InfoComm CTS or CTSD certification considered an asset.
  • Prior experience in project management.
  • Expertise and experience working with classroom systems design and architectures.
  • Expertise in working with IP based video conferencing equipment and presentation and projection devices and systems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement training scheduling and maintenance systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems and major software packages on the Windows and Macintosh platforms.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
