PostDoctoral Fellow Business Knowledge Hub

  • Employment Type: Full time
  • Duration: Fixed term until December 2027
  • Remuneration: Level B from $ 123620 base salary 17% superannuation and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington NSW (Hybrid Flexible Working)

Why Your Role Matters:

We are seeking a PostDoctoral Fellow to join the UNSW Business Schools Knowledge Hub contributing to highimpact research on ageing and demographic transitions particularly in emerging Asian economies such as China Vietnam Thailand and Indonesia. This role involves independent and collaborative research using household survey and administrative data to explore topics including pensions education fertility health labour markets intergenerational dynamics and macroeconomic linkages.

The position may also include research relevant to the Australian context and offers an excellent opportunity to deepen expertise in applied demographic and economic analysis. The Fellow will report to the Knowledge Hub Director and work closely with the Research Stream 4 Lead.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities in this role include but are not limited to

  • Develop and apply original research ideas aligned with CEPARs Asia program.
  • Conduct research independently or as part of a team.
  • Build and use models software and databases; analyse data and share findings.
  • Help prepare funding applications with guidance from senior staff.
  • Work with researchers in Australia and internationally.
  • Write and publish highquality research papers and present at conferences.

Who You Are

  • A PhD in economics or econometrics.
  • A strong research track record especially on ageing issues in emerging Asian economies.
  • Excellent skills in programming data analysis and econometrics with experience using household datasets from the region.
  • Proven ability to present and explain research through conferences seminars or teaching.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across disciplines.
