Job Description
Our client is a leading Building and Civil Engineering Construction firm headquartered in Ivory Coast with a strong footprint across West Africa. The company is renowned for its expertise in the design and execution of complex building and infrastructure projects delivering highquality construction solutions across the region.
Job Summary: The Senior Site Supervisor will oversee daily construction activities on a highprofile social infrastructure project including a modern library cinema and community facilities. The role requires a handson professional with strong technical knowledge leadership capabilities and fluency in both English and French. The ideal candidate will ensure that work is completed safely on time within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations Management
Supervise and coordinate all site activities and trades to ensure adherence to construction schedules and specifications.
Monitor progress daily identify potential delays and implement corrective actions.
Ensure efficient deployment of labor materials equipment and subcontractors on site.
Quality Control
Enforce quality assurance protocols and inspect work to ensure compliance with project drawings specifications and standards.
Liaise with QA/QC engineers to resolve technical or quality issues on site.
Health Safety and Environmental Compliance
Promote a strong health and safety culture on site.
Ensure all activities comply with HSE regulations and that workers use appropriate PPE and follow safe work practices.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings regularly.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of site activities including daily reports inspection records materials received and workforce logs.
Assist with the preparation of progress reports and attend site meetings with clients consultants and internal teams.
Communication and Coordination
Act as the key onsite liaison between site staff subcontractors suppliers engineers and the project management team.
Translate and relay technical instructions procedures or updates clearly in both English and French as needed.
Team Leadership
Provide direction and support to site foremen and workers.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Requirements
Essential:
Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering Building Technology or Construction Management.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in site supervision within the building and civil engineering construction industry.
Demonstrated experience in largescale public/commercial infrastructure projects.
Fluent in both English and French (spoken and written).
Strong knowledge of construction techniques materials site safety and quality control.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Desirable:
Certification in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g. NEBOSH IOSH).
Experience working in multicultural environments and remote sites in Africa.
Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. MS Project Primavera) is a plus.
