Job Description

In this full time or part time role based in Epworth Eastern (Box Hill) you will work alongside the Manager of Patient Services and the Leadership Team to ensure the Patient Services team provides a streamlined and efficient approach to elective and emergency admissions. This covers all aspect of the patients journey prior to admission including theatre bookings clerical preadmissions health fund eligibility checks and the admission of the patient.

The role will also involve responding promptly to enquiries and requests handling patient accounts as well as general administrative duties including data entry. 

You will make an impact by:

  • A strong customer focus to ensure a positive patient experience from booking to admission.
  • Coaching and developing employees in the many aspects of Patient Services.
  • Creating a positive team culture through newstarter orientation recruitment activity team leadership and roster management
  • Having excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • An ability to cope under pressure and make informed decisions according to hospital needs

Excellent with your time management and organisation skills you can prioritise effectively to manage multiple requirements.  You have a collaborative leadership style and can bring out the potential in your team.

You will have:

  • Demonstrated success in team leadership
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology
  • Extensive Clerical experience in a serviceoriented environment
  • Experience with or knowledge of health fund checks and requirements
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Experience in IPM/CRM or similar health systems software will be advantageous

Located in Box Hill Epworth Eastern is a stateoftheart facility with 14 theatres and expansion of ICU to 12 beds. Epworth Eastern maintains a broad clinical focus from cardiac vascular orthopaedic and general surgery to oncology urology and endoscopy services. Qualifications :

  • Relevant qualification in relevant discipline e.g. Health Administration (Desirable)
