POSITION SUMMARY
USA Lacrosse is looking for someone to join our team as our Manager Player Development. This role manages the operations of USA Lacrosses player development and growth programs including but not limited to developing training and educational content to help players grow and develop their skills and knowledge in the sport of lacrosse. The Manager Player Development will take a holistic approach to player and athlete development assisting players with their growth both on and off the field. In this role you will get to partner with the Sport Experience team and other departments throughout USA Lacrosse to advance our Mission to fuel the growth of lacrosse and enrich the experience with diversity equity and inclusion in mind to help players develop their knowledge and skills.

A Typical Day Looks Like
- Designs and implements development plans for lacrosse players focusing on skill development and enhancement. This includes but is not limited to creating training plans/programs and drills for players so they can continually improve and heighten their skills and lacrosse knowledge.
- Continually identifies opportunities for content development needs and addresses those needs with the development of programs/training materials to provide resources for players. Ensures the alignment of USALs educational content with the Athlete Development Model for player development.
- Develops short and longterm goals for educational initiatives for player development to ensure the evolving needs of youth and high school age lacrosse players are met and addresses. This includes collaborating with the business intelligence (BI) team on surveys and focus groups to understand what players want and need to be better and more wellrounded lacrosse players; always ensuring they are using a holistic approach to how they are building their programing.
- Leads initiatives to recruit lacrosse players to participate in our programs by partnering with the marketing team to promote and provide branded communication about programs available. This includes evaluating platforms available for content to ensure we are using relevant platforms and technologies.
- Promotes USALs player development programs and partners with member organizations to get them involved in the development of program content through volunteer opportunities (i.e. Player Focus Groups etc.).
- Collaborates crossdepartmentally and with the Regional Growth team to develop and build educational initiatives and strategies to reach the player audience to ensure our offerings resonate and align with their needs and the direction of the game.
- Engages with players at all levels (youth through professional) to brainstorm and develop content to help enhance the skills and knowledge of lacrosse players throughout the country.
- Partnering with the SR Director Sport Experience and data analytics team develops KPIs and metrics to evaluate and measure the impact of USALs player development initiatives.
- Provides and prepares regular reports on the player development program initiatives and their impact. This includes brainstorming and making recommendations for improvements and enhancements to existing offerings.
- Partners with the membership and marketing and communications departments to develop annual communication calendars and marketing plans to increase reach and awareness.
Is This You
- Three (3) to five(5) years of experience in program development and training/educational initiatives. Experience managing volunteers a plus.
- Knowledge of the sport of lacrosse is required. Previous playing coaching and/or officiating experience and an appreciation for the need for player development is critical for success in this role.
- Previous working experience in a nonprofit association or other memberbased organization a plus.
- Prior experience developing content identifying training needs and translating that into an educational platform to meet the various learning needs of youth to adult learners. This includes the ability to consult with and involve subject matter experts (SMEs) as necessary and appropriate.
- Proven experience working in a consultative role requiring collaboration and agreement among external parties with differing opinions and priorities a plus.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships and establishing trust to advance programs and organizational initiatives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal team members and departments as well as external parties to complete projects and meet established deadlines and goals. This includes the ability to problem solve and think outside the box to bring together differing perspectives to alignment.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 products specifically Word Outlook Excel PowerPoint and Teams. Knowledge of Salesforce a plus and the ability to learn new software programs.
- Ability to think proactively and strategically with the capacity to deal with shifting priorities based on business needs.
- Strong organizational skills ability to multitask and meet required deadlines and exceptional attention to detail and follow up/through skills.
- Effective communication skills including written verbal and interpersonal. This includes the ability and confidence to speak publicly.
- Ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential information.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid remote/in office fastpaced results oriented work environment.
- Energetic gogetter with the ability to present a professional and assertive persona to negotiate build relationships and establish credibility and trust.
- Ability to be flexible with established work schedule to accommodate travel needs that may require work at night and/or on weekends based on business needs.
- Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and appreciate the need to develop and fuel the growth of the sport with diversity inclusion and equity in mind.

Expected Hours of Work
This position is generally expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and occasionally requires longer hours or weekend work as related to events and other business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.
Compensation & Benefits Overview
The total compensation pay range (inclusive of base salary plus annual incentive pay potential) for this position is $55000 to $68000 commensurate with experience.

Travel Requirements
Travel up to 25% of the time (local regional) may be necessary. Travel would involve the following mode(s) of travel: car train or air. Some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.
