Full time starting salary is normally in the range 32546 to 35116 with potential progression once in post to 39355

Grade: 6

Part Time (4.5 hours per week)

Fixed Term contract up to March 2026

UK and International travel may be required for this role

Background

The School of Mathematics welcomes applications for a 0.12 FTE research associateship in Applied Mathematics to work with Dr Xiaocheng Shang on the EPSRCImpact Acceleration Account funded projectMachine Learning Assisted Diagnosis of Acute Compartment Syndrome via a Web Application.

The post is available for a period of 10 months (no later than 31 March 2026). The starting date is between May and June 2025 (with some flexibility).

The successful candidate will join a community of researchers in the Statistics and Data Science group within the School of Mathematics University of Birmingham. The group consists of 16 permanent staff as well as large cohort of postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers and has proven trackrecord in mentoring and supporting the development of earlycareer researchers.
