The opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists in our Turnaround department within the Metals division for a Lead Turnaround (TA) Events located in Fort Saskatchewan Alberta. The purpose of this position is to serve as the TA Lead interfacing with stakeholders across the organization to define execute and improve turnaround event preparation execution and closeout. The role focuses on maximizing safety schedule and cost performance while ensuring asset reliability and process integrity.

In this role you will be accountable for:
  • Leading the integration and scheduling of all planned and unplanned turnaround (TA) work aligning internal teams and contractors.
  • Ensuring all scope elements are documented reviewed and approved maintaining riskbased scope reviews and late work addition logs.
  • Measuring and reporting on TA readiness and progress against key milestones using deliverables and KPIs.
  • Leading meetings tracking action items and executing communication plans to ensure consistent stakeholder alignment.
  • Identifying and resolving execution challenges conducting lessons learned sessions and closing postevent actions to improve future events.
  • Coordinating the integration of capital projects operational tasks inspection strategies and maintenance work into the TA scope and schedule.
  • Developing and reviewing essential documents such as PreStartup Safety Review strategies and closeout reports while performing assurance checks.
  • Advising teams on safety scheduling material logistics and risk mitigation to support successful TA execution.
Skills and attributes for success:
  • Technologist diploma or Journeyperson certification in a maintenancerelated discipline.
  • 10 years of relevant industry experience preferably in industrial mining processing or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience with maintenance projects and TA processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and computerized maintenance management systems (EAM preferred); SharePoint experience is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documents such as P&IDs SLDs and other technical drawings.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
