Job Description

Complex Case Manager

About the opportunity

Under the direction of the Head of Student Safety and Wellbeing and as part of a multidisciplinary team The Case Manager will coordinate and provide Intake and assessment for all students seeking wellbeing support. The role will provide student centered coordination from the initial assessment throughout the progression of the students care. The role will require coordination of referrals to internal and external stakeholders to support the student through their academic journey. The incumbent will be involved in a range of activities and initiatives involving proving advice and promoting student wellbeing. This role will contribute to the broader strategic priorities of Student Equity and Success including the Gender Based violence action plan to improve outcomes for students by enriching wellbeing and providing timely responses to those at risk.

What youll do:

  • Directly support students who are facing complex or numerous mental health concerns.
  • Support the development and implementation of the student intake and triage system
  • Provide professional advice to staff on matters related to student safety and wellbeing including appropriate support following disclosures of experiences of GBV.
  • Provide traumainformed risk assessment in the areas of genderbased violence and suicide risk. Further provide access to specialised supports information and resources.
  • Participate in student wellbeing case management with multiple supports within the university.
  • Maintain client records and data in a manner which supports effective professional practice and which contributes to the accountability of the service.
  • Foster mental health wellbeing for students with disabilities including collaborating with Accessibility and studentled groups to develop relevant strategies and resources.

  • A demonstrated commitment to gender equality and willingness to support the University of Tasmania Gender Based Violence Action Plan.
  • Expert knowledge on contemporary best practice in addressing the drivers of genderbased violence.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgement to apply effective case coordination planning implementation and review.
  • Welldeveloped written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Highly developed computer skills and experience.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $126637 comprising base salary within the range of $98473 to $108237 plus 17% superannuation.
