Ideal Candidate:

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this classification the employee is frequently required to stand walk sit stoop kneel bend and work in an office and laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type handle materials manipulate tools and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of jobrelated equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. Idaho National Laboratorys (INL) National & Homeland Security (N&HS) Directorate is seeking an experienced technical professional for the role of Department Manager to lead our Spectrum Innovation Department. The person chosen for this position will report directly to the director of our Wireless Communications Research division. Our team works a 9x80 schedule at our Research and Education Campus in Idaho Falls with every other Friday off.
The Department Manager will be expected to provide strong leadership direction and personnel management for a department of approximately 30 staff involved in innovative technical research and development to support Department of Energy Department of Defense Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security sponsors. The Department Manager also will be looked upon to develop strategy manage the departments budget provide professional development opportunities for staff and develop additional government and industry sponsors.
