has an opening for a
DISTRIBUTION ENGINEER
Greater Sudbury Hydro Inc is an electrical utility committed to delivering safe reliable and sustainable service to our customers. Our parent company Greater Sudbury Utilities Inc. is a diversified communityowned corporation focused on service excellence.
We are currently seeking a Distribution Engineer to join our team. This is a nonunion position based in Sudbury Ontario.
Reporting to the Manager of Engineering you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of distribution design and construction standards as well as distribution equipment specifications.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Distribution system shortterm and longterm growth and betterment planning.
- Assist in load flow and loss optimization analysis fault level studies and fuse/relay coordination.
- Prepare reports to regulatory bodies such as the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) and the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) on matters pertaining to distribution system reliability maintenance and safety compliance.
- Support the development of planning operating maintenance and capital expenditure budgets for the distribution system.
The successful applicant must possess the following qualifications:
- A fouryear University degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited postsecondary institution or a combination of education training and experience deemed to be equivalent by the Professional Engineers Ontario.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (.) designation.
- Five years of experience working with utility distribution systems.
- A valid Ontario Class G drivers licence is required.
