Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for locating parts and supplies required by the Facilities department.
  • Involved in price negotiations for parts and supplies required by the Facilities department.
  • Assist Administrative Assistant in contract negotiations with outside vendors which are maintained by the department.
  • Assist Administrative Assistant with P & L and budget preparations.
  • Assist in the design implementation motivation and upgrades of the department inventory control system.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions within the specified monetary amounts.
  • Review department invoices prior to Director/Manager approval and approve invoices within specified monetary amounts.
  • Assist in the preparation on contracts and CERs for approval.
  • Develop and update inventory control measures for the department.
  • Work with engineering staff to develop and update appropriate parts levels for materials & supplies.
  • Work with engineering staff to identify key items such as motors pumps fans etc. that are critical to the operation of the casino and develop and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Audit parts and supplies levels to ensure proper stocking.
  • Responsible for inventory control items in the warehouse.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to accept and an ability to perform leadership roles.
  • Show initiative in solving problems while seeking supervisory guidance as necessary.
  • Display good judgement and an ability to make decisions that are in the best interest of the organization and its guests.
  • Perform with an understanding of the mission and operation of the organization and engineerings critical role in this environment.
  • Possess a positive team work ethic.
  • Effective in completing work timely accurately and efficiently.
  • Develop a positive working relationship with internal guests through open communication and timely and accurate job completion.
  • Minimal absenteeism / tardiness.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Control cost of projects by using innovative technology and tried and true methods and materials. Presents self as a credit to Harrahs and encourages others to do the same.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory departmental and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required.
  • One year Facilities Administrative and Facilities Purchasing experience.
  • Experience with automated purchasing system.
  • Two years purchasing experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to get along with coworkers and develop teamwork.
  • Must present a wellgroomed appearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino both inside and outside.
  • Must be able to stand stoop bend lie on back and ascend/descend ladders in normal execution of duties.
  • Must be able to push and lift weight of up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to see small objects in poorly lit areas.
  • Must possess coordination and dexterity to work with hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to work in areas containing high noise levels dust and secondary smoke.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to respond to visual olfactory and aural cues.
  • Must be able to work inside and outside the facility.
